The Panasonic NCR 18650B were the best for my application and at the best price. Sure you can get better but, I wasn’t willing to pay 19.00 for a flashlight battery.

The protected cells from Panasonic tested to spec on start-up and are working well in my low-draw toys. Good choice for replacing the Chinese c#@p that usually ships with this stuff. Definitely not for high-amp loads, but probably safer in this application, and more mAHs. Buy a replacement and a stand-by spare. They ship with a decent safety storage case, so no worries in storing the spare (and the Chinese one).
